Symphony Soup! is the capstone performance of our
Up Close & Musical® program. It is designed to get kindergarten through third grade students excited about the symphony orchestra and classical music. Short excerpts are selected from classical music's most popular favorites and the students "cheer with excitement when they see their Hunt Quartet friends on the stage, giggle when the music is funny, listen intently when it's quiet and cover their ears and smile when it's loud," according to one program participant.
Symphony Soup concerts take young students out of the classroom and into the concert hall for a chance to hear classical music the way it was meant to be heard...live! The four members of the Hunt Quartet are the stars of this concert, and the repertoire comes from the Up Close & Musical curriculum...music the students have been hearing all year.
