THE YOUTH
DOCENT PROGRAM

MAKING SENSE OF THE MUSIC
One of the reasons the Fall Youth Concerts are such an effective and enriching learning experience for elementary school students is that they're prepared to make sense of and enjoy the music they'll hear.

DOCENTS GO TO THE STUDENTS
Each year, MSO musicians and members of the Madison Symphony Orchestra League visit classrooms throughout south-central Wisconsin before the Fall Youth Concerts. They introduce the music, composers and concert etiquette in fun and engaging ways. These sessions give children a chance to hear the music, to understand more about it, and to
respond to it. The Youth Docent Program is available free
of charge to schools that are registered to attend the Fall Youth Concerts.

VOLUNTEER!
Elementary school music teachers count on visits from MSO docents to help their students develop a deeper relationship with music in preparation for the Fall Youth Concerts. We are always in need of more volunteers for this fun and inspirational program. We provide the training to make sure that the experience effective and entertaining for everyone!
