MSO COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
Reaching the Heart of the Madison Community
Our Education and Community Engagement Programs reach 32,000 children and adults throughout Dane County each year. These programs offer excellent
opportunities to learn new skills, explore the excitement of music and interact
with others who share the love of music.
The Symphony's newest community engagement initiative, HeartStrings is built on the foundation of the nationally recognized Up Close & MusicalĀ® program. Reaching beyond traditional learning environments, HeartStrings brings live, interactive musical performances to children and adults with special needs. Learn more at left.
Step into Overture Hall an hour before each concert—except the Christmas Spectacular—to find out more about the composers and their music and gain insights into the lives of our world-famous guest artists.
The MSO is still one of the few orchestras in the nation to bring the public into dress rehearsals free of charge. Reaching people who are unable to attend regular concerts and offering free opportunities for students to learn is all part of the MSO mission. Learn more at left.
The MSO's free educational events at the Madison Children's Museum offer small children their first glimpse of musical instruments and time to interact with the MSO musicians who play them! Learn more at left.
